Sail without owning a boat!

Launching in Spring 2025, MSC’s Boat Share Program offers access to our shared fleet of sailboats based on your qualifications and experience.

To helm (pilot) a Boat Share sailboat, you’ll need CANSail2 or equivalent certification.

  • Don’t have CANSail2? No problem! You can still sail as crew with qualified Boat Share members while working toward your certification.
  • Individual Lessons are available through instructors associated with the club at separate cost.
  • As your skills progress, you can certify to sail in a wider range of wind and wave conditions.

We also offer an Old Salts Program, where newer sailors are paired with experienced MSC members for mentoring and fun on the water.

Boat Share members are Senior Members and contribute 20 work hours per season. Many of those hours can be spent maintaining the sailboats alongside knowledgeable sailors—an excellent way to "learn the ropes" (or should we say, sheets).

MSC stores boats on land and launches them with dollies—a fun and social way to get out sailing.

Cost Breakdown:

  • $215 (Senior Membership)
  • $315 (Boat Share Program)
  • Plus HST
  • One-time initiation fee of $240 includes two evenings of sailing instruction
