2017 CL16/ Wayfarer Regatta
Wayfarer Canadian National Championship Series

The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020. Racing rule changes will appear in full in the Sailing Instructions which will be issued prior to the first Skipper’s Meeting.
Life jackets/PFDs must be worn at all times.
Anyone found with personal alcohol will be disqualified from this event
Open to all boats of the Wayfarer and CL16 classes.
If a Wayfarer wishes to be scored in the Canadian National Championship Series then each participating skipper must be properly registered and a paid member of Canadian Wayfarer Assn, the USWA or the UKWA. The CWA registration may be done online at http://www.wayfarer-canada.org/2017CWA_membership.html. Wayfarers not registered with the CWA may compete in the regatta because this is a MSC club event. These Wayfarers will not be eligible to be scored in the Wayfarer Canadian National Championship Series but will be scored in the CL16/Wayfarer Series.

Entry fee is $80 if received on or before Aug 18th 2017.
Or $100 if received after August 18th.
The entry fee includes a banquet dinner for skipper and crew (additional banquet dinners $20 each.)
Note: Participants are requested to supply their own lunches.
Up to 4 races are scheduled for Saturday 26th Aug (11am first start), no races to start after 4:00 pm Up to 3 races are scheduled for Sunday 27th Aug (10:00am first start), no races to start after 2:00 pm. Please see attached schedule of events for more details.
Banquet Dinner –At the club. Theme: Celebrate Canada 150; Red and White Attire. Dinner after last race at approximately 5:30 p.m. with licensed cash bar.
The Low Point scoring system of Appendix A will apply. One race completed will constitute a series if no further races can be completed. When fewer than 4 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. When 4 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
All Wayfarers and CL16 will be scored as one fleet competing in the CL16/ Wayfarer Regatta by finishing place. In addition, Wayfarers who are members of the Wayfarer Association will be scored by finishing place for the Wayfarer Canadian National Championship Series.
Awards for 1st through 3rd in both the CL16 Class and the Wayfarer provided 3 or more boats register in a class; Most Improved, plus other awards at the Committee’s discretion.
Awards for the Wayfarer Canadian National Championship will be the standard Wayfarer trophies and shall also include the “Smallcraft of Southampton Trophy” for 2017 winning team, as Wayfarer National Champion.
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $1,000,000 per incident or the equivalent. Proof of insurance will be required on Saturday at the regatta check-in.
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority, volunteers and/or the Mississauga Sailing Club will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
Mississauga Sailing Club is located in Lakefront Promenade Park in Mississauga Ontario. Take the
Cawthra Road (south) exit from the QEW highway. Travel south on Cawthra and make a left turn on to Lakeshore Road E. Travel east on Lakeshore Road and make a right turn onto Lakefront Promenade.
